FDC welcomes Kaihura’s directive but cautions on scope

Opposition Forum for Democratic Change has welcomed Gen kale Kaihura’s pledge to hunt down armed robbers in Kitgum district but cautions on general security concerns in northern Uganda.

Mr Reagan Okumu (FDC-Aswa County) the FDC Vice President for Northern region says that the police chief should instead beef up security in the entire region due to similar incidents of mysterious killings.

The Inspector General of Police pledged to residents of Kitgum Municipality that he would deploy the fly Squad to hunt down armed robbers.

Okumu however cautions that handling Kitgum municipality alone cannot end security gaps in Kitgum.

Gen Kaihura’s pledge by followed his visit to the district just after two people including Mr Tony Olanyah a former Customs Officer in the Uganda Revenue Authority were gunned down mysteriously.
