The EU ambassador to Uganda Kristian Schmidt has challenged youths to be passionate about their dreams and work hard.
Speaking at the 4th annual National youth’s skills development Expo in kampala last evening, Schmidt said youths need to become entrepreneurs in order to drive the country’s economy.
He cites lack of startup funds, and experience among other challenges affecting youths efforts to become successful entrepreneurs across the world.
The ambassador asks government to take family planning seriously to control the growing population, reform the school curricula, and prioritize vocational training.
The Expo organized by the youth advocacy foundation Uganda was running under the theme” role of youth in the sustainable development goals.”
The state minister for youth and children affairs Florence Nakiwala Kiyingi has challenged Youths to be productive and make the best use of their time.
Nakiwala says youths must take a deliberate move to impact their societies only through putting into action what is said.
