Eradicating poverty among police officers the biggest root cause of corruption

The police professional standards unit says it is committed to eradicating poverty which is the biggest root cause of corruption among its police officers.

According to the Units Spokesperson Vincent Sekatte, a number of strategies have been put in place to ensure is wiped out among them the outreach campaign where the police goes out to communities to encourage the people to report corrupt officials.

Sekatte says this campaign has registered tremendous improvement with corruption cases dropping to 75 compared to 96 of the previous year.
