Don’t abandon Agriculture,Farmers advised

The people of Hoima have been asked not abandon farming in the wake of the lucrative oil discovery.

According to Jesca Kyeyune, the national content manager at CNOOC Uganda agriculture remains the back bone of the country even if other sectors seem booming.

Kyeyune says much as many Ugandans are anxiously waiting to reap big from the oil, Agriculture is a sector that is here to stay even after the oil is no more.

She adds that food will be the highly needed commodity in the Albertine region as the oil drilling starts thus underscoring the need for agriculture not to be abandoned.

Kyeyune meanwhile calls for standardization of food arguing that most of the people working in this sector are foreigners who care about quality products.
