Doctors meet to decide the fate of conjoined twins

Mulago Hospital Doctors are expected to meet today to decide whether or not to separate the conjoined twins here or refer them abroad.

The twins who were born close to two weeks ago reportedly share the liver.

According to their father Owomugisha Denis, the doctors say they are meeting today to discuss their findings so far and decide on the way forward.

The Ugandan doctors have never conducted such an operation and if they chose to conduct it here, it would be the first of its kind.

The conjoined twins were born to 24-year old Rosette Tusiime in Kabale before being referred to Mulago Hospital.
