The committee that was instituted to investigate sexual harassment at Makerere University has advised the university management to install CCTV cameras at strategic places to cub the vice.

While handing over the report to chancellor, the committee chair prof Sylvia Tamale says that all teaching facilities and buildings inside the university should have CCTV cameras since majority of buildings don’t have 24 hours security and surveillance cameras.

She notes that they established that some lecturers invite female students at night beyond 8pm hence the cameras will scare culprits from molesting their students.

She also notes that the university should ensure adequate lighting throughout campus since some female students are harassed in some dark corners
