Border security tightened

The increased terror threats have prompted security personnel to heighten security.

The Uganda People’s Defense Forces has beefed up security at the previously unmanned points along the border with Kenya.

This follows recent attacks on the Kenyan coastal town of Mpeketoni by suspected Al- Shabab militants that left over 60 people dead.

UPDF Third Division spokesperson Capt. Jimmy Denis Omala says all the border points from Nyakiroro to Amudat have been secured to prevent terrorists from accessing the country.
