Anti-gay law still a sticky issue

Uganda’s anti-homosexuality law will remain a sticky point especially among some Western powers.

Political Analyst Dr. Golooba Mutebi says the insistence by the US government to fight Uganda’s anti-homosexuality law does not bode well for the other African countries embracing similar legislation. Dr. Golooba says the law has turned into a battle of wills pitting Western values against African values.

Recently, the controversial law was advanced as one of the reasons for blocking Foreign Affairs minister Sam Kutesa from assuming the Presidency of the UN General Assembly when it convenes on June 11th
