4GC set for another show-down with the police

Lukwago being arrested

The police and the opposition members under For God and My Country (4GC) pressure group are set for another show-down in the city.

This is after the opposition members announced that they are organizing a series of rallies in the city to sensitize the public on what they call illegalities about the forth coming mayoral by election.

Addressing the media today, the embattled lord mayor Erias Lukwago said the rallies will start from Katwe this Wednesday, followed by Wankulukuku on Sunday.

He explained that they have dully informed the police and thus they expect no interference.

He adds that the Electoral Commission’s move is illegal and must be shot down.

The electoral commission has set April 17th as the polling date, but the opposition political parties have vowed to shun the exercise, describing as illegal.
