Uganda drops in FIFA rankings

Uganda has dropped 5 places in the FIFA World rankings released today. The fact that the Cranes were not involved in any international competitions explains the drop from 82nd to 87th in the world and from 15th to 20th in Africa. The results of 51 international matches have been taken into account, of which 32 took place as part of the CAF Africa Cup of Nations and 19 were friendlies, yet Uganda did not take part in any. The biggest movers are Zambia, who won their first continental title in Equatorial Guinea and Gabon have climbed up 28 places to 43rd. Nestroy Kizito retires

Former Uganda Cranes left back Nisteroy Joseph Kizito has officially retired from international football according to a statement released by FUFA this morning. Kizito has been a Cranes international since 2001 when he won 33 caps. At club level, Kizito featured for SC Villa from 2000–2004 before moving to Serbian side Srem between 2004 and 2005 where he scored two goals in 21 appearances. Kizito later played for Vojvodina from 2005–2010 scoring once in 112 appearances. He then moved to last club in Serbia Partizan Belgrade between 2010 and 2011 with whom he joined the list of selected Ugandans who have played UEFA Champions League. KCC Coach gets life line

KCC FC got back to winning ways as they labored to a 1-0 win over Maroons in the Bell Super league game played at Wankulukuku stadium. Siraje Turyamuhebwa nodded in a beautiful cross from Moses Ochaya to give KCC maximum points and in the process eased the pressure on coach Morley Byekwaso who has been under fire after a series of poor results. Express take leadership of the Bell Super League

Express FC have moved to the top of the Bell Super League with a hard fought  1-0 win over Police FC at Wankulukuku stadium. Yayiro Lutimba got the solitary goal for the Red Eagles who move to 30 points, two more than URA FC who have not been in action as they prepare to take on UTODA tomorrow. In Buikwe, Bunamwaya marked their re-instatement to the league with a convincing 3-0 win over Proline who had also been thrown out of the league over failure to honour fixtures. USL bows to FUFA

Uganda Super League Secretariat has bowed to the demands of the local soccer governing body Fufa and released a new log of the Bell Uganda super League with sixteen teams. The table has Hoima- Busia rooted on bottom of the table without any game played. Fufa demanded the Hoima- Busia should be reinstated in the league after USL had thrown them out The log also shows teams like Express, URA, Masaka, Police, Fire Masters and Utoda to have played 13 games ruling out the initial three fixtures the six teams had played on September 9th last year.
