Police issues Namugongo traffic guidelines

Addressing journalists earlier today the Kampala Metropolitan traffic commander Norman Musinga says public and private vehicles as well as motor cycles will not go beyond the different police cut off points at Kireka Town, Nalya Round about, Kira Town, Bweyogerere and Seeta. Musinga says pioneer buses shall be stationed at different cut off points as mentioned above to transport people at Shs 1000 to the main venue. Kenyan pilgrims pray for peaceful elections

With just two days to the martyrs’ day celebrations, a group of pilgrims from Kenya has entered Uganda to pray for peace in Kenya as the country prepares for the August general elections. The pilgrims are walking in small groups, holding hands and singing hymns with light luggage and water containers occasionally resting under tree shades to re energise for the remaining journey to Namugongo Shrine in Kampala. Veronica  Neima   one of the pilgrims from  Central  Kenya, Nyadero  county  says  they are  from about 7 arch dioceses  from the region, that include Nyei, Nairobi  and Eldoret among others. Chief Justice tips women in leadership on lifting status of the girl child

He was on Wednesday morning speaking at the opening of the very first conference of how to address challenges that are still being faced by Uganda’s girl child and women in rural areas. Kyambogo University students face dismissal for forging examination permits.

Over 30 students of Kyambogo University face dismissal for forging examination permits. Addressing journalists at the university, the Vice Chancellor Prof Elly Katunguka says some students have been spending tuition money on betting and instead forging exam permits from Nasser road. He says the university disciplinary committee will sit next week to give the students a fair hearing and a report forwarded to senate before a decision on their fate can be made.
