Opposition storm out of Parliament in protest

By Moses Kyeyune: Opposition Lawmakers have walked out of Parliament in protest of the Manner in which the House is proceeding. The Walk out follows several rejections of procedural points by the Speaker. Despite efforts by the Leader of Opposition Winnie Kiiza, the Speaker, Rebecca Kadaga stuck to her gun, hell bent on having the Report on the Bill is presented. The lawmakers then walked out vowing to return after consultations. The Speaker has given out the opposition seats to members of the ruling party in the meantime.

Livestock, Chicken price shoot up in Karamoja a head of Christmas.

By Steven Ariong: The prices of cattle, goats, sheep’s and chicken in Karamoja markets have tripled a head of Christmas festival. According to a one week mini survey conducted by Daily Monitor  in Karamoja cattle markets,  a bull that was going for between 900,000 to shs 1million three month ago now now goes for 1.8million to Shs 2million. A goat that was sold at shs 100,000 earlier now goes for sold at between 150,000 and 200,000. While sheep goes for 100,000, up from about Shs80,000. Meanwhile a chicken weighing 3 to 5 kilograms that was sold at shs 17,000 is now is sold at Shs 30,000 while a roasted piece now goes for Sh 5,500, up from shs 3,000. Patrick …

FDC postpones Christmas over age limit

Addressing journalists at the party headquarters in Najjanakumbi, the vice chairperson of eastern region Salaamu Musumba says that since the report for the bill has returned to Parliament today the country is yet to witness another sad moment of the constitution amendyjust like the term limits. IGP sued by A security guard for framing him and wrongfully parading him before the press

By Ruth Anderah: A security guard has sued  IGP Kale Kayihura  accusing him of framing and wrongfully parading him before the press as the ring leader of the infamous “Bijambiya” group that terrorises people in Kampala and Masaka district. Grace Bukenya formerly  a security guard at  New Nana hostel in Makerere says he was arrested by Old Kampala police  station in  April  this year  on suspicions of writing chain letters ( bibaluwa)  on which he would base to attack and murder people using pangas, harmmers and sticks . #AgeLimit: Six Mp’s Suspended for Seven sittings

By Moses Kyeyune: The Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga has suspended six Members of Parliament over indiscipline. Those suspended include Ntungamo Municpality MPGerald Karuhanga, Erute South MP Jonathan Odur, Kiira Municipality’s Ibrahim Ssemujju and Allan Sewanyana of Makindye West. Others include Kawempe South MP Mubarak Munyagwa and Kilak North’s Anthony Akol. The Speaker earlier warned that she would suspend errant MPs for seven days.
