S.Sudan MPs refute claims of targeted attacks on Ugandans

Parliamentarians from South Sudan have dismissed reports that Ugandan traders are being targeted in their country.

The MPs, who met with their Ugandan counterparts at Parliament this afternoon, said reports of Ugandans being targeted are false and instead attributed this to growing criminal gangs in Juba.

Under the Kampala City Traders Association, traders plying their trade in South Sudan have often complained of harassment in Juba, with some of the traders killed.

The legislators, including Victor Ohidei and Edward Victor explain that the South Sudan government has ensured that security is beefed up in the business areas to protect foreigners, including Ugandans.
