Kampala Capital City Authority has vowed to block the planned election of Wandegeya market leadership.
The election is organized by a group opposing the interim committee put there by the authority.
The authority spokesperson Peter Kauju says last year they appointed the 8 man team led by Jonathan Gitta to manage the 22 billion shilling facility and they still have trust in it.
A section of vendors supporting the former chairman Muteesasira Mawejje has however vowed to continue with their planned election to replace the interim leaders whom they accuse of brutality.
The market, which was commissioned in October 2013, is yet to register 100 percent occupancy.
The ground floor, which is reserved for restaurants, still remains unoccupied with vendors complaining about what they call high rental fees.
