Omusinga palace to be reopened

By Samuel Ssebuliba Security personnel are set to vacate the Omusinga Wa Rwenzururu’s palace next week, following a series of meetings between security officials and other stake holders. Since the attack on the palace in November last year, security operatives had branded it a crime scene, denied access to everyone including members of the royal family. Speaking to KFM, Sowedi Mansuri, the Rwenzori East region police spokesperson said that they have finalized all investigations and the next step is to hand over the palace to the kingdoms authorities. Ofono Opondo describes Kizza Besigye as a time waster and un-serious individual.

By Benjamin Jumbe The executive director Uganda media Center Ofono Opondo has described former FDC presidential candidate Dr Col Kizza Besigye as a time waster and un-serious individual. This is after Besigye set terms for talks with president Museveni, among which was having a respected foreign mediator, structured framework and getting to the national dialogue as equal parties. Opondo tells KFM that Besigye should not continue wasting Ugandans’ time but concentrate on building his party which clearly is falling part. The Minister of information Frank Tumwebaze earlier said there was no need for dialogue on political issues because there is a constitutional framework that specifies how things should be done, adding that Besigye is living in denial.

Singer Janet Jackson has at the age of 50 given birth to her first child, a baby boy A rep for Jackson confirmed the news saying, “Janet Jackson and husband Wissam Al Mana are thrilled to welcome their new son Eissa Al Mana into the world.” The rep added, “Janet had a stress-free healthy delivery and is resting comfortably.” News of Jackson’s pregnancy first surfaced in April of 2016, when she postponed her Unbreakable tour to plan her family. One dead, two injured in Grenede Explosion

One person has died and two others sustained serious injuries after a grenade exploded in Ntoroko District. According to the PRO of Rwenzori region, Lydia Tumushabe, the incident happened in Rwangara Village in Kanaara Sub County. She has identified the deceased as 25 year old Tumushabe Agaba and the two who are nursing injuries at Buhinga Referral hospital in Fort Portal as 23 year old Ahebwa Agaba and 6 year old Murungi Agaba. Tumushabe adds that the trio tried to open a grenade that was left in the house by a police officer who had travelled to Jinja district for duty. No pay for Lukwago

Damali Mukhaye The minister for Kampala Betty Kamya has said that the lord mayor of Kampala Erias Lukwago will not be paid his emoluments or any other related benefits until he gets clearance for the Court of Appeal. Lukwago had earlier issued a December 2016 ultimatum to Kampala Capital City Authority Executive Director Jenifer Musisi to pay his salary arrears and other emoluments that accumulated between December 2013 and May 2016, a position that was also communicated to the minister for Kampala.
